Guided Academic Partners
Academic Coaching for Confidence, Structure, and Independence
The transition to college is exciting — and overwhelming. New academic expectations. New independence. New responsibilities. New questions. ‘Am I doing this right? Am I the only one struggling?’
Guided Academic Partners helps students replace the chaos with clarity by building personalized systems so they can manage their time, reduce anxiety, and begin their college experience feeling capable and prepared.
With a BA in Psychology and an MA in Mental Health Counseling, I bring years of student engagement experience. I know what it’s like to be a college student and the challenges that students face. My time working in academic centers has given me the opportunity to tailor the right strategies to student needs.
Why the First Year Feels So Heavy
Students entering higher education often notice very quickly how much there is to juggle, and it’s easy to become overwhelmed. College introduces more than just new and more rigorous course content. Campus life offers an abundance of opportunities to take advantage of clubs, organizations, and dormitory events to name just a few. If these pieces are not enough to contend with, young adults are often figuring out how to do laundry, clean their living spaces, and find time to eat.
Many first-year students struggle with
Time management without built-in structure
Overwhelm and procrastination
Communicating confidently with professors
Balancing independence with accountability
Academic anxiety and fear of falling behind
Without the right systems in place, students can feel lost, behind, or alone. The risk of academic probation and dropping out increases.
How We Help
Guided Academic Partners helps undergraduate students build personalized academic routines, planning structures, and organizational strategies in order to avoid burning out or falling behind. It’s important for students to learn how to balance academics, self-care, relationships, and campus life in order to make the most of their college experience.
Together, we create systems tailored to each student’s strengths and needs.
Sessions may include:
Weekly planning and calendar systems
Breaking down large assignments into manageable steps
Study strategy and exam preparation structure
Accountability and follow-through support
Communication guidance with professors
My approach is grounded in psychology, mental well-being, and executive functioning skills. Executive functioning skills in particular are the foundation to managing academics and day-to-day life. This is often how I lay the groundwork for student success. I also help students recognize when to access campus resources — academic advising, tutoring, or counseling — and how to use them effectively.
I don’t replace these supports. I help students connect the dots between them.
Two Ways to Start Strong
Summer College Readiness Intensive
-
Designed for graduating high school seniors or incoming college freshmen who want to start strong. Each week students meet with me for a virtual call that is tailored to their goals and needs.
-
This program helps students:
Set up a personalized planning system
Build realistic weekly routines
Learn how to manage academic workload
Develop strategies before challenges arise
-
Limited enrollment allows for individualized attention and meaningful support.
Starting college with structure changes everything.
Academic Partnership Programs
-
Students have the opportunity to continue working with me during their first year. The systems built over the summer are powerful but real life is messier than theory. Through monthly virtual calls and several check-in sheets, we make sure the systems and structures created over the summer are effective, adjust what isn’t, and work through any unique challenges that arise.
-
This program prepares students for commonly faced challenges, such as:
How do I pivot when the dates for assignments, exams, and projects change?
How do I approach my professor when I have questions? (Sometimes raising a hand in class feels intimidating)
Where do I go if I need help understanding course content, editing papers, or using a research database?
What do I do if I am having problems with my roommate?
What if I'm struggling to make friends?
I become a dedicated partner during the school year. This package is ideal for students who thrive with ongoing support and accountability.
-
Both the 6 Month and Full-Year Package includes:
2 hour-long virtual calls per month to discuss what is going well, any challenges that are coming up, and strategies to address those challenges
2 digital check-in sheets per month clarifying current goals, how they are working toward those goals, and any areas they are struggling with
I respond within two business days with options, suggestions, and personalized guidance that they can implement
It is the student’s responsibility to take feedback seriously and actively work to implement the strategies we discuss.
You Don’t Have to Navigate This Alone
